A useful starting point
If you alter the pan, ingredient quantity and mixing method together, a different result does not reveal which change mattered. A small cooking notebook can separate the adjustments, while acknowledging that household conditions are not perfectly controlled.
Keep it in your kitchen notes
Use a reliable recipe and change only a permitted, understood variable for a limited comparison. Keep the remaining method and relevant safety instructions intact. Record both attempts with their actual conditions. Avoid experimenting with safety-critical preparation, preservation or unsupported substitutions. The useful outcome is a clearer observation, not a general scientific conclusion from two meals.
