A useful starting point
The same mixture spread over a different area can have a different depth. A pan’s stated size therefore contributes to the method, especially when the recipe depends on a particular arrangement. Similar-looking containers are not necessarily equivalent.
Keep it in your kitchen notes
Check the dimensions and type specified by the author before beginning. Consult verified substitution guidance rather than guessing from the photograph. Note the container actually used in your recipe record. Do not assume that an adjusted cooking time alone resolves every change. A compatible recipe and equipment combination is a better starting point than an improvised pan swap with an unexplained result.
