A useful starting point
A vague note saying better next time can be difficult to use later. Useful notes identify the recipe version, equipment, quantities and the result you observed. They should distinguish the published method from changes you made.
Keep it in your kitchen notes
Write a few factual lines immediately after the attempt: what you followed, what you changed and what question remains. Describe appearance or texture without claiming a controlled test. Link the original recipe and retain its units. Do not present a single household attempt as proof of consistent performance. A clear record simply makes the next review more informed.
