A useful starting point
A recipe can use grams, millilitres, cups and degrees within the same page for different purposes. Confusing a volume unit with mass or reading an oven setting in the wrong temperature scale can change the result.
Keep it in your kitchen notes
Mark the units on the ingredient list and appliance instructions. When combining shopping quantities, add only compatible units or use a justified conversion. Keep the original recipe visible while you work. Do not round every quantity simply to make the list shorter. The purpose is to retain the author’s intended measurement, while unresolved conversion questions remain questions to clarify.
